ABOUT US
We are an organized group of volunteers who are officially incorporated, non profit in the state of Washington, and currently working on our non profit 501 (c) (3). We work side by side with our local ferret shelters to find homes for “unwanted" ferrets, help the shelters in their miscellaneous duties, plan and operate fundraisers for the shelters. We meet every third Saturday of the month. We also plan fun events for the public with their ferrets. We work very closely with the American ferret Association (AFA). Our goals are:
1.) Promote and educate the public about the domestic ferret, ferret care and their routine health, maintenance and vaccinations..
2.) Reduce the number of unwanted ferrets in the shelters, while being there for those ferret owners who need our assistance
3.) Educate the public about the importance of domestic ferrets with hopes of changing their views about these species.
Our fundraisers are events like bake sales, garage sales, Santa Paws, the
INWFA Ferret Show. For Education, we can be found at different pet stores, like
Petsmart and Petco, doing what we call “Meet and Greets” and Adoption Days. At
these events we have representatives from shelters there with adoptable ferrets
to answer any questions. We also do a lot of activities involving education
about the domestic ferret such as the annual Pet Fest event held at the Spokane
Interstate Fairgrounds, and
shows for the public to "show off" their ferrets and learn about different
varieties of ferrets and their care.
